find peace with food and your body

Image contains details about Body Mindfulness Virtual Group Therapy. All details are also included in the text of this page.

You’re likely on this page because you have struggled with body image concerns.  You have heard messages from media, family,  religion, or medical professionals that your body is not okay.  You struggle with appreciating your body and engaging in activities that make your body feel good.

Body Mindfulness involves learning concepts to help you engage with food and your body in new ways.  You’ll have an opportunity to dig through the muck that has created your body image concerns.  You’ll focus on listening to your body more than to those outside messages.

Body Mindfulness can help you make peace with food and your body!

I’m interested.  How do I register for this group?

Let Michelle know that you’re interested by completing a contact form or emailing her at owner[at]michellefmoseley[dot]com.  If this will be your first time working with Michelle, she will schedule a brief  video consultation with you to ensure this group is a good fit for your concerns.. Then, you will be provided some paperwork to complete. Once the paperwork is complete, you’re all set and you’ll receive the weekly links to attend the group.

What can I expect from this group?

The Body Mindfulness group incorporates principles of mindfulness, Intuitive Eating, and Health At Every Size to help you reconnect with your body and heal your relationship with food.  You will have opportunities to share as you feel comfortable. This group will not be focused on “diet talk” (i.e. comments on appearance, sharing ideas for weight loss, etc.)  In fact, the harm that this type of conversation can cause will be part of the discussion during the group sessions.

How do I know if this group is right for me?

If you are someone who has spent years of your life trying to change your body through dieting, this group may be a good fit for you. If you are feeling out of control around food and wondering if you have a “food addiction”, this group may be a good fit for you. If you are in recovery from an eating disorder and have a support system in place, this group may be a good fit for you. If you’re the caretaker for a child and want to give them a different perspective on food and body as they grow up, this group may be a good fit for you. The brief consultation appointment is a great time to discuss your specific situation and determine if this group is right for you.

What if these concepts are totally new to me?

No problem! This group is designed to provide an introduction to the concepts for those who haven’t heard of them before, as well as to be an opporutnity to dig deeper for those who have some foundation in the concepts of intuitive eating or health as a social justice issue. You’ll also be provided with further resources to explore on your own, if you’re so inclined.

I’ve got more questions…
