I was recently invited to be a guest on the You Need a Counselor Podcast. This podcast is the work of Heart and Solutions, located in Iowa, and is designed for folks who are curious about counseling but may have barriers that prevent them from experiencing the benefits of working with a counselor.
In my conversation with Julie and Chrissa, we discussed my own experience with spiritual abuse and religious trauma, as well as my experiences seeking counseling. I share some information about what spiritual abuse and religious trauma are, and some of the ways they may be experienced. We also discuss both the harmful and helpful experiences I’ve had as a client in counseling.
I invite you to take a listen to You Need a Counselor Podcast – Episode 174 – Spiritual Abuse and Religious Trauma with guest Michelle Moseley.
I truly do believe that all of us can benefit from talking with a counselor at various times throughout our lives.
If you are located in North Carolina and seeking to work with a counselor around concerns related to religious harm, body image, anxiety, grief, or life transitions, feel free to contact me. I offer a free, 15-minute virtual consultation to see if we may be a good fit for working together.
